Alom Ashaha calls out Richard Dawkins

In an article for the lovely British newspaper, The Guardian, an ASIAN science writer accused the Atheist community of excluding minorities. Alom Shasha, who mainly writes about science and religion, claimed that prominent non-believers are “all white men.” He cites several white male atheists as proof: Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, among others.

Let me just say one thing: I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!

Those “scientists” have had it on easy street for far too long… someone should mention minority issues to them!!!! Has this been brought to there attention before???? I think Alom Ashsha should emails to Richard Dawkins, Christophr Hitchens, and Sam Harris to let them know about this injustice that is occurring… Alom claims in his article: “I have been disappointed by the refusal of many atheists and sceptics I know to acknowledge that there is even a problem.” To that I say AMEN!!!!

Why are there no famous MEXICAN atheists? Why are there no famous BRAZILIAN atheists? These are the kinds of questions that need answers… there important questions… very important indeed.

I would like to nominate Alome Shaha to spearhead the movement to bring in more minority atheists to the forefront. Alome, if your up to it, LET’S GET THIS THING STARTED!!!!! Lets get ASIAN, BLACK, MEXICAN, and BRAZILIAN atheists to be as famous as the white ones!!! Let’s Get this meaningful dialogue started!!!

Larry King is not racist but he is old

I work at a bingo parlor and I work with a lot of old people. AND THE OLD PEOPLE ARE RACIST. Really racist…. They call black people the “n-word.” The old people call full grown black men “boys.” They also are also racist against ASIANS and MEXICANS and INDIANS.

But the question is… should we scold the old people or let them live out the rest of their months in peace? Should we let them alone… or should we try to teach them about the importance of diversity?

When I first started working at the Bingo Parlor, I tried to correct the old people’s political incorrectness… But it was like trying to teach a brick wall how to recite the alphabet. Old people cannot be taught things… THEY ARE OLD AND DO NOT LEARN. So I don’t never even try anymore. Why bother them with stuff like this if they can’t learn? I just say let them believe what they want to believe… it’s not like they will be around for much longer anyways.

That may or may not have anything to do with the whole MEXICAN issue, but I thought it was pretty philosophical and worth mentioning. So, in conclusion, I can now see that Dan Harmon is not to blame for the lack of a MEXICAN character in Community, I now believe that NBC is worried about low ratings and forcing Dan to exclude the MEXICANS. You are a beautiful human being Dan.

Islamic tradition has some scary stuff included. For one thing, the punishment for leaving the faith (apostasy) is death. Yes, that’s what you read. The punishment for leaving the faith is death. This is what the ever-trustworthy Wikipedia has to say about apostasy in Islam:

Vigilantes have killed, beaten, and threatened converts in Pakistan, the Palestinian territories, Turkey, Nigeria, Somalia, and Kenya. In November 2005, Iranian convert Ghorban Tourani was stabbed to death by a group of fanatical Muslims. In December 2005, Nigerian pastor Zacheous Habu Bu Ngwenche was attacked for allegedly hiding a convert. In January 2006, in Turkey, Kamil Kiroglu was beaten unconscious and threatened with death if he refused to deny his Christian faith and return to Islam. In a highly public case, the Malaysian Federal Court did not let Lina Joy convert to Christianity in a 2-1 decision.

Apostasy’s death penalty is awful, but we need to embrace their traditions. Diversity among people and traditions should be embraced. The traditional Islamic law for adultery punishment is horrifying as well. Here’s another gem from Wikipedia: “The punishment of adulterers under Islamic law is stoning (Rajm).” Isn’t that something? I know that it might seem intolerable, but we need to try our best to understand and embrace this illustrious culture.

It looks as if those Muslims have found a non-medical reason for amputation; they amputate hands as punishment for theft. And let us not forget, flogging is the traditional punishment for drinking alcohol.

Conclusion Islamic traditions are an important thread in the diverse tapestry of society. As loving human beings, we should embrace all cultures and their varied traditions. It’s easy to embrace the warm-and-fuzzy ideals of Christianity and Buddhism. But let’s not forget to save some love for the Muslims, too.

NBC’s COMMUNITY NEEDS A MEXICAN CHARACTER. I applaud NBC for their effort in bringing in a diverse cast of characters to a television show. The mediocre comedy entitled Community has several minorities represented… They have a muslim, two black characters, an Asian, several women, a gay dean, and a senior citizen. It would seem that they have all of there bases covered.

But there is one minority that they have completely and unconscionably ignored. That’s right. Our friends to the south… THE MEXICANS. How could they have ignored such a culturally rich and prominent culture? Mexicans are plentiful in community colleges, so why have the Latinos been excluded from the show? My studies show that Mexicans make up a whopping 19% of all community college attendees. And don’t forget all the janitors and maintenance men that are Mexican. America’s community colleges are basically brimming with Mexicans. So why are they being ignored?

I have a few theories as to why Mexicans have been so vociferously excluded:

• Dan Harmon (Community creator) is ignorant
• Dan Harmon is fearful of low ratings due to white people’s hate of Mexicans
• NBC does not allow too many minorities in it’s comedies

Maybe not all of these are true; but if even one of them is true, then it is a despicable situation. Why aren’t more people clamoring about this issue? Don’t people care about inclusiveness, tolerance, and love? Why is the main character a white man? WHAT CAN WE DO?

I’ll tell you what we can do. We can email Joel McHale and Chevy Chaese and Dan Harmon and inform them of this issue. We can start a petition and send it to NBC. We can talk to our neighbors and co-workers about this issue. We need to create a meaningful dialogue about this issue. Our Mexican brothers and sisters are entitled to have the same equality as the other minorities represented in Community.

• The lack of value given to DIVERSITY
• the need for TOLERANCE
• the need to PROMOTE EQUAL RIGHTS for all

I have decided to become a proponent of PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING. One step that I have taken is to start this blog to promote diversity awareness. I plan to provide a meaningful dialogue… about inclusion, dignity, and empowerment.

We need to build a worldwide community… that focuses on respecting ourselves and others, no matter how strange their customs may seem. We must… overcome our ignorance and fear; overcome our prejudice… and hatred; and overcome our natural instinct to distrust foreign peoples. We ALL need to LOVE EVERYBODY and HATE NO ONE…

If all of this sounds too difficult for you… then I invite you to get in contact with your deep spiritual self. Deep down it should be obvious that we need to love each other.
